About This Singing Bowl

This is an etched bowl with Sri Yantra interior design, a mystical diagram of Hindu Tantra which is considered a manifestation of the Goddess, and also represents the union of the Masculine and Feminine Divine. Om Mani Padme Hum symbols sitting inside Lotus Flowers are etched on the interior wall. Eight Auspicious Symbols of Tibetan Buddhism cover the exterior wall.

About the Sound Sample

Due to the ultra-low bass tones and subtle harmonics we highly recommend that you use earphones when critically listening to singing bowl sound samples.

First, you’ll hear the bowl struck on its upper outside edge with a large Tibetan-wool padded gong mallet. Next, you’ll hear the rim tone played with the wooden end of the 45mm leather-padded “Fat Boy” mallet. Lastly, you’ll hear the fundamental tone played around the outside wall with the leather end of the 60mm “Fat Boy” leather-padded mallet.

NOTE: The strike and fundamental sustains for approximately 1:45 seconds upon release of the playing mallet. The rim tone sustains for about 1:25 upon release of the playing mallet.

“High-wall” singing bowl

Called Jambati in the Himalayas, the High-wall type is the largest diameter variety of all the Tibetan singing bowls. They are highly prized for their deep basso profundo Om tones. Fundamental tones can range from the second to the third octave of a piano. The rim tones can spread into the fifth octave.

Package Includes:

  • 3-piece Professional Mallet Set (a large Tibetan-wool padded gong mallet, a 45mm and 60mm “Fat Boy” Himalayan hardwood leather-padded mallet).
  • Tibetan silk-brocade Singing Bowl Cushion (color/style may vary).
  • Tips and Information Brochure: historical information, general metallurgical analysis, how to hold the mallet, playing around the rim, and advanced techniques.

You will receive the exact bowl you see and hear.
