About This Singing Bowl

This is an etched bowl with a Green Tara interior central image and repeating Om Mani Padme Hum mantras upper interior wall.

About the Sound Sample

Due to the ultra-low bass tones and subtle harmonics we highly recommend that you use earphones when critically listening to singing bowl sound samples.

First, you’ll hear the bowl struck with the included medium Tibetan-wool padded gong mallet. Next, you’ll hear the rim tone played around the upper outside rim with the 40mm leather-padded “Fat Boy” mallet. Lastly, you’ll hear fundamental tone being played around the outside wall with the leather end of the same 40mm leather-padded “Fat Boy” mallet.

NOTE: The strike sustains for almost two minutes, while the rim tone sustains for over two minutes, and the fundamental tone sustains for 1:20 upon release of the playing mallet.

“High-wall” singing bowl

Called Jambati in the Himalayas, the High-wall type is the largest diameter variety of all the Tibetan singing bowls. They are highly prized for their deep basso profundo Om tones. Fundamental tones can range from the second to the third octave of a piano. The rim tones can spread into the fifth octave.

Package Includes:

  • 2-piece Professional Mallet Set (a medium Tibetan-wool padded gong mallet, and a 40mm Himalayan hardwood wool-padded mallet).
  • Tips and Information Brochure: historical information, general metallurgical analysis, how to hold the mallet, playing around the rim, and advanced techniques.
  • Optional Tibetan silk-brocade Singing Bowl Cushion in your choice of Tibetan Red, Blue, or Plum for an additional $20.

You will receive the exact bowl you see and hear.
