About the Sound Sample
First, you’ll hear the sound of the bowl struck on its upper outside edge with a 22mm leather-padded mallet. Next, you’ll hear the fundamental tone played around the outside rim with the wooden side of the same 22mm leather-padded mallet.
Bowl Type: “Bodhi” Rare Antique Singing Bowl
A small sized variation of a Bodhi Bowl, a singing bowl type that is characterized by its gracefully curved, outward facing lip. When this type was first discovered it reminded us of the spreading branches of the Bodhi tree– hence the name. Singing bowls are also known as Sound Bowls, Meditation Bowls, Buddhist Bowls and Chakra Bowls.
