NOTE: There is a superficial crack on the basin of this bowl. This minor imperfection in no way affects the bowl’s sound, sustain, or stability, and it is fully covered under the terms of our satisfaction guarantee.
About the Sound Sample
First, we strike this bowl on its upper outside edge with a 30mm wool-padded mallet. Next, we play the rim tone with the leather end of the 30mm leather-padded mallet. Lastly, we isolate the fundamental tone with the leather end of the same 30mm leather-padded mallet.
Bowl Type: “Cobrebati”
A more globular type of singing bowl with usually thin and high walls. Like the lingam-type bowls, they also have an area in the bottom interior basin that has been forged to produce an upward-pointing protrusion. Sizes range from below 6″ to around 8+”. Due to the relatively thin walls, many of these types of bowl produces deep-struck tones.
