About the Sound File

We highly recommend that you use earphones when critically listening to singing bowl sound samples.

First, we strike this New Large singing bowl on its upper outside edge with a medium Tibetan wool-padded gong mallet. Next, we play the rim tone with the leather end of a 35mm leather-padded mallet (you can also use the wooden end of the 45mm leather-padded mallet). Lastly, we isolate the fundamental tone with the leather end the 45mm “Fat Boy” leather-padded mallet.

Note: The strike sustains for an impressive two minutes, the rim and fundamental tones sustain for 1:35 upon release of the playing mallet.

Package Includes:

  • 3-piece Professional Mallet Set (a medium Tibetan-wool padded gong mallet, a 35mm wool-padded mallet, and a 45mm Himalayan hardwood leather-padded “Fat Boy” mallet).
